About the role

ACREST is recruiting a Program Manager to lead the day-to-day coordination and implementation of its Clean Cooking Programme in Cameroon. This is a senior operational role for someone who can translate programme objectives into clear workplans, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, maintain implementation momentum and ensure that activities are delivered to a consistently high standard. The Program Manager will work closely with the CEO and programme leadership while coordinating staff across programme operations, communications, monitoring and evaluation, logistics, administration and field implementation.

The role is based in Cameroon and requires regular travel to programme implementation and distribution areas depending on operational needs.

About ACREST

ACREST is a Cameroonian non-governmental organisation developing practical, locally grounded solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen communities and support sustainable development. ACREST is expanding a large-scale clean cooking programme focused on improving access to efficient cooking solutions for households and communities across the West, Littoral and South-West regions of Cameroon. The programme combines stove distribution, community engagement, monitoring, technical operations and the progressive development of local production capacity. ACREST is also developing CleanTechCameroon SARL, its subsidiary dedicated to local clean-technology production and related industrial activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day planning, coordination and implementation of programme activities.
  • Translate programme objectives into practical workplans, schedules, responsibilities and measurable deliverables.
  • Coordinate teams across field operations, communications, monitoring and evaluation, logistics and administration.
  • Monitor progress and identify delays, risks or operational bottlenecks.
  • Supervise and support programme staff and strengthen accountability across teams.
  • Coordinate implementation across ACREST offices, distribution areas and field teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with the CEO on progress, priorities, risks and management decisions.
  • Support programme reporting, internal reviews, budgeting, operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate meetings, workstreams and follow-up actions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to programme systems, procedures, internal controls and continuous improvement.
  • Represent ACREST professionally during meetings, field missions and programme activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in programme/project management, business administration or a closely related field.
  • A relevant Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • At least ten years of relevant professional experience, including significant programme, project or operational management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English or French; bilingual capability is strongly preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of common office and project-management tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within Cameroon.
  • Right to work in Cameroon.

Specific requirements

  • Previous experience supervising multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in development programmes, clean energy, climate, community development, public-sector programmes, infrastructure, distribution or other multi-site operations is an advantage.
  • The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO.
