About the role
ACREST is recruiting a Communications & Marketing Manager to lead programme communications, public engagement and brand consistency. This is a hands-on management role combining strategy with execution across digital channels, field storytelling, campaigns, media and programme materials.
The role is based in Cameroon and requires regular travel to programme implementation and distribution areas depending on operational needs.
About ACREST
ACREST is a Cameroonian non-governmental organisation developing practical, locally grounded solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen communities and support sustainable development. ACREST is expanding a large-scale clean cooking programme focused on improving access to efficient cooking solutions for households and communities across the West, Littoral and South-West regions of Cameroon. The programme combines stove distribution, community engagement, monitoring, technical operations and the progressive development of local production capacity. ACREST is also developing CleanTechCameroon SARL, its subsidiary dedicated to local clean-technology production and related industrial activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ACREST’s communications and marketing plan for the programme.
- Manage brand consistency across digital, print, event and field materials.
- Plan and supervise content for Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other relevant channels.
- Develop short-form video, photography, beneficiary stories and campaign content with the programme team.
- Coordinate media relations, press outreach, radio/TV opportunities and public-facing events where relevant.
- Maintain a practical content calendar and approval workflow.
- Supervise communications staff and external creative suppliers where used.
- Support community mobilisation and field communications around programme activities.
- Track communications performance and improve campaigns based on results.
- Ensure communications are accurate, respectful and aligned with ACREST’s programme objectives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent Bac+5 qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, including responsibility for communications strategy or campaigns.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Demonstrated experience producing or supervising short-form digital content.
- Working knowledge of social platforms including Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines and stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of analytics and performance measurement.
- Professional proficiency in English or French; bilingual capability is strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel for field content and programme activities.
- Right to work in Cameroon.
Specific requirements
- A portfolio or examples of campaigns/content will be requested from shortlisted candidates.
- Experience in community mobilisation, development communication, clean energy or social-impact campaigns is an advantage.
- Practical photography, video or editing capability is strongly valued.
